Dr. Manuela Gheorghiu is a specialist in Aesthetic Medicine, certified by the University of Córdoba (Spain), and has extensive experience in non-surgical aesthetic rejuvenation treatments in Barcelona. She combines her clinical practice with university teaching and specialized training, allowing her to remain continuously up to date with the latest medical advances.
Her in-depth knowledge of facial anatomy and the processes involved in skin ageing—such as the development of wrinkles, folds and skin laxity—allows her to carry out accurate diagnoses and design treatments tailored to each individual case.
Each patient is treated on an individual basis, following a personalised medical approach aimed at achieving natural, balanced results tailored to their specific needs.
In general, the duration of facial fillers ranges from 12 to 24 months, although this may vary depending on individual factors such as age, lifestyle and each patient’s characteristics. In patients with a previous history of treatments, results often persist beyond this time period.
It is important to note that these are biocompatible and resorbable products, which are progressively metabolised by the body over time, although not immediately or completely.
In the case of neuromodulators, used for the treatment of expression wrinkles and bruxism, their effects typically last between 6 and 8 months, as the product is gradually eliminated from the nerve endings.
Once this period has elapsed, we recommend maintenance or touch-up sessions to preserve the results and maintain optimal aesthetic and functional effects.
Our non-surgical medical aesthetic treatments can be considered safe and are associated with a low risk of allergic reactions or the formation of subcutaneous irregularities, as we use biocompatible, non-permanent substances that are progressively resorbed by the body.
Side effects are uncommon and, when they do occur, are usually related to the injection technique. They may include redness, swelling or mild, temporary bruising at the treated area. These effects typically resolve within a few days.

At our clinic, we do not use permanent fillers, such as liquid silicone or implants, due to the potential long-term complications they may cause, including inflammatory reactions, nodules or aesthetic irregularities. We exclusively rely on safe, well-established medical treatments.

In facial aesthetic medicine, there is no single treatment that is universally better than others, as the choice depends on each patient’s individual characteristics, treatment goals and a personalized medical diagnosis. Each procedure is indicated for a specific purpose and is effective when appropriately selected and performed.
To achieve complete, balanced and natural-looking facial results, we often combine different therapeutic approaches. These may include facial harmonization with hyaluronic acid fillers, treatment of expression wrinkles on the forehead, frown lines and crow’s feet, as well as facial laxity treatments aimed at stimulating collagen production and improving skin firmness.
In selected patients, we also incorporate treatments with polynucleotides, indicated for their ability to improve skin quality and support skin regeneration processes, particularly in cases of skin ageing, loss of density or dull, devitalised skin.

In general, our aesthetic medicine treatments are suitable for most people. However, the indication for each procedure is always determined following an individual medical assessment, taking into account the diagnosis and each patient’s clinical history.
During the consultation, we carry out a personalized assessment to determine whether the treatment is suitable for you or if any contraindications are present, with the aim of ensuring safety and optimal results.
In the case of pregnancy or breastfeeding, many treatments are contraindicated as a precaution—not because they have been proven unsafe, but due to the lack of sufficient scientific studies supporting their use in these situations. For this reason, we recommend postponing treatment until this period has concluded.
