You may have noticed it in photos or on video calls: your jawline looks less defined than it did a few years ago, or your chin has never quite balanced with the rest of your face.
There is an anatomical explanation and, in selected cases, a medical solution without surgery. Which technique is appropriate for you — or whether any treatment is indicated at all — is what we determine during the consultation.
We provide guidance based on medical expertise.
Facial masculinization is not a single treatment, but a medical plan that combines different non-surgical techniques to define the features that give a male face its structure: the jaw angle, the line from the ear to the chin, chin projection and support in the midface.
The starting point is anatomy. The male face generally has denser bone, thicker skin and a different distribution of facial fat from the female face. This means it is not a matter of applying the same protocol used for a female face with more product: the technique, the type of product and the objective all change. Where a female face may be enhanced through curves and smooth transitions, a male face is typically defined by angles and straighter lines. Failing to account for this is what leads to results that do not look anatomically coherent.
It is also important to explain what it is not. It is not a transformation of your features or a template applied in the same way to everyone: it is about restoring or creating definition within your own facial structure. And it is not surgery: the products we use are biodegradable, and the plan can be adjusted over time.
Once the plan has been established during the consultation, the treatment session usually takes between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on the areas treated. You can return to your normal routine the same day, with a few precautions that we will explain. Mild swelling during the first few days is common and usually resolves on its own as the product settles.
Facial masculinization is generally suitable in three different situations.
You have lost definition over time. From around the age of 40, bone gradually resorbs and facial fat compartments descend. Jawlines that were once well defined become less distinct, and the transition between the face and neck loses clarity. In these cases, treatment restores support where it has been lost.
Your jawline or chin has never been particularly defined. This is not an age-related issue, but a structural one: for example, limited chin projection or a naturally soft jaw angle. In these cases, the aim is to build structure rather than replace what has been lost, and treatment is usually planned in stages.
Your face looks more tired than you feel. Sometimes reduced firmness in the lower face, combined with poorer skin quality, creates a dull or fatigued appearance that does not reflect how you actually feel. In these cases, the most appropriate approach often combines structural support with skin-quality treatment, rather than simply adding volume.
There are also cases in which this is not the right approach. If significant skin laxity or fat beneath the chin is the main concern, adding filler will not solve the problem. The correct indication may be a facial skin laxity treatment or a different approach, and we will explain this honestly during the consultation.

The aim is not to change your face, but to give it greater structure. In practical terms, this may mean:
Depending on the technique indicated, the result may be visible from the first session or develop gradually over several weeks or months. During the consultation, we explain what you can expect in your specific case and the likely timeframe, so you can make an informed decision knowing exactly how the process works.
This is the main technique when the objective is structural definition: enhancing the jaw angle, contouring the jawline or improving chin projection. For these areas, we use high-density hyaluronic acid fillers designed to provide support over the bone, rather than creating soft volume.
We choose this option when an immediate result is appropriate and it is important to retain room for adjustment: hyaluronic acid is biodegradable. Results typically last between 12 and 18 months, depending on the product and individual factors such as lifestyle and metabolism.
When the concern involves not only facial structure but also tissue quality and firmness, we may recommend collagen stimulators such as Sculptra or Radiesse. Rather than adding volume directly, they stimulate your own collagen production. The result develops gradually over several weeks and becomes more established over time.
We use them in faces that have lost tissue density and support, or as the first stage of a phased plan in which tissue quality is restored before structural definition is added, if needed.
Skin boosters do not create structural definition; they improve the skin through which that structure is seen. We recommend them when there is dehydration, uneven texture or a dull appearance that detracts from the overall result, often as a complement to the techniques above. A well-defined jawline beneath healthy-looking skin produces a different result from the same jawline beneath dull, dehydrated skin.
First, we listen: what concerns you about your face and what you would like to achieve.
We then assess your face by structure — bone, muscle, fat and skin — to understand what is causing the lack of definition you see. Limited bony chin projection is not the same as a blurred contour caused by descending fat compartments or reduced skin firmness, and each cause requires a different technique.
Based on this assessment, we give you a reasoned medical recommendation: what is appropriate for your case, what is not, and why. Sometimes the answer is a different technique from the one you expected; sometimes, no treatment at all.

People may notice that you look better, without necessarily knowing why. We work with conservative amounts, at the appropriate depth and within your own facial structure, so the change is perceived as a firmer, more rested face rather than a different face.
An overly soft result can occur when techniques designed for the female face are transferred directly to the male face. Our plan is based on male anatomy: denser bone, thicker skin and an objective centred on angles and lines rather than curves or rounded contours.
This is why the choice of product — typically more structural — the depth of injection — often over the bone — and the areas treated are different. The aim is to reinforce what is already yours, not to add something that does not belong to your natural anatomy.
It depends on the technique. With hyaluronic acid fillers, results typically last between 12 and 18 months depending on the product. With collagen stimulators, the result develops gradually and usually lasts between 18 and 24 months.
No treatment is permanent, and this is intentional: your face changes over time, and the treatment plan must be able to adapt with it. Maintenance is always assessed during a medical review.
We use only biodegradable products from established medical laboratories. We do not use permanent fillers such as injectable silicone or injectable implants because of their potential long-term complications.
The usual effects after treatment are mild and temporary: some swelling, tenderness or a small bruise, which generally resolves within a few days. During the consultation, we review your medical history and explain any contraindications relevant to your case.
They are not competing options; they address different concerns. Hyaluronic acid fillers create structural definition with an immediate effect, while collagen stimulators improve tissue firmness and quality gradually.
If your facial contour has become less defined because of loss of bony support, the approach will be one; if the main issue is reduced tissue quality, it will be another. In many cases, the plan combines both in stages. This is precisely the question the consultation answers by assessing your face in person.
In that case, this is probably not the right treatment for you, and it is important to know this before investing in it. When fat beneath the chin is the main concern, adding product to the jawline does not sharpen the contour and may even make it look heavier. A different approach is usually more appropriate, and if this applies to you, we will explain why during the consultation.
You can return to your normal routine from the same day, as the session does not require time off or a recovery period. We will ask you to avoid intense exercise, alcohol and strong heat — such as saunas or direct sun exposure — for the first 24–48 hours, and not to press or massage the treated area during the first few days. We will explain all aftercare instructions during your appointment.
