Facial sagging can have different causes. Understanding yours is the first step towards choosing the right treatment.
If you notice a less defined facial oval, reduced skin firmness or a slightly more ‘fallen’ appearance, the change may not be only on the surface. It often also involves the support underneath: the facial structure, tissue quality and how these have changed over time.
In many cases, facial sagging can be improved without surgery. The key is to assess which area of the face needs support, stimulation or repositioning before deciding on the treatment.
We provide guidance based on medical expertise.
What we call sagging is the result of several processes happening at the same time and in different layers: bone loses volume and provides less support, deep fat descends, the ligaments that held the tissues in place become weaker, and the skin produces less collagen and elastin. This is why two people with the ‘same’ sagging may need different treatments: the dominant cause is not the same.
Our facial sagging treatment is a plan. First, we identify which layer is causing what you see; then we choose the technique — or combination of techniques — that acts precisely there, in the right order, with the right product and the right doses for your tissue.
It is not about stretching the skin without restoring the support it has lost, which can create the tight look that is so easily recognised. Treating the cause, instead, restores firmness without changing your features.
The specific session depends on the technique indicated: each one has its own procedure, timing and pace of results. You can find these explained on each treatment page, and during your assessment we will go through the details of the plan that applies to your case.
There is no single treatment for facial sagging. Depending on the origin of the problem, we may work with different techniques or combine them within a treatment plan.
When facial sagging has more than one cause — support, skin quality, muscle action — the plan combines several techniques in stages. This is our most complete approach to facial descent.
When the problem is loss of tissue density and firmness. They encourage the skin to produce its own collagen progressively. We work with poly-L-lactic acid (Sculptra), calcium hydroxylapatite (Radiesse) and a hybrid treatment that combines stimulation and support (HArmonyCa).
When what you notice is thin, dehydrated skin or superficial wrinkles rather than true tissue descent. Profhilo, skinboosters and polynucleotides improve hydration, elasticity and the tissue’s regenerative capacity.
When the tissue has descended and still has good quality, threads reposition it and stimulate collagen around it. They are indicated in selected cases, either on their own or as part of a broader plan.

You do not need to choose between one treatment or another before the assessment. Each technique acts on a different cause — loss of tissue density, skin quality or tissue descent, among others — and the important thing is to identify which one explains your case.
From there, we can recommend the most appropriate treatment for your face. If you have received different proposals at different clinics, it does not necessarily mean that one is right and the other is wrong; it may simply be that each professional has interpreted your case differently.
When a treatment does not work, the most common explanation is not that the technique is poor: it is that it did not match the cause. Treating the skin surface when the problem is loss of deep support — or the other way around — creates exactly that feeling of having invested in something that did not help.
That is why the first thing we do is review what treatments you have had, how your tissue responded and what is really explaining your facial sagging. With that map, the indication changes; and if we conclude that we cannot offer you a clear improvement, we will also tell you.
It depends on the technique. Thread lifts provide a visible effect from the beginning; collagen stimulators work progressively over weeks and months, because the result is built by your own tissue.
Duration also varies depending on the treatment, your skin quality and your habits. On each technique page you will find the specific timeframes, and after the assessment we provide a written plan calendar with the approximate timing of each phase and maintenance.
We work with CE-marked techniques and products, applied by a doctor and only after a prior indication: safety starts with case selection. Relevant contraindications are reviewed during the consultation before recommending anything: pregnancy and breastfeeding, active infection in the area, active autoimmune disease, coagulation disorders that cannot be adjusted, or a history of reaction to filler materials, among others.
The most common effects after injectable treatment — redness, swelling or a small bruise — are temporary. Your full medical history is always reviewed before treatment.
The price depends on the treatment plan indicated for your case. After the assessment, you will receive a personalised, explained and written quote before making any decision.
That concern is reasonable, and the solution lies in the indication, not in ruling out products altogether. When the problem is skin quality and density, a collagen stimulator improves the tissue without adding volume.
When what is missing is support — a cheekbone that has lost projection, a jawline that has become less defined — hyaluronic acid filler placed in a deep plane rebuilds the base; it does not inflate the surface.
A swollen look is not caused by one type of product: it is caused by treating without diagnosis, in the wrong area or with the wrong dose.
It is possible, and we prefer to tell you at the right time. There are specific indicators that define that boundary: significant excess skin with loss of retraction, established ligament descent or advanced submental fullness.
When these are present, non-surgical treatment may offer partial improvement, but probably not the result you expect; the assessment is precisely what helps you make that decision with real information.
Surgery and aesthetic medicine are not in competition: they work in different layers, and aesthetic medicine often improves tissue quality before or after surgery.
Because several structures age at the same time, not only the skin. Over the years, bone loses volume and projects the tissue less; deep fat redistributes and descends; the ligaments that held everything in place give way; and the skin produces less collagen and elastin, reducing its capacity to retract.
The proportion of each factor varies from person to person — due to genetics, weight changes, sun exposure or smoking — and that proportion is exactly what needs to be identified before treatment.
