A collagen biostimulator designed to improve facial skin density and firmness without surgery, when clinically appropriate for your case.
Perhaps this is what you have started noticing when you look in the mirror: your facial skin feels less supported and your contours appear less defined. It is not necessarily a question of volume, but of firmness — and there is a medical, non-surgical approach designed to address it.
This is precisely where Radiesse works: it restores support to the skin and stimulates your own collagen production over the following months. During your consultation, we assess whether it is the right technique for you. If it is not, we explain which option is more suitable and why.
Booking a consultation does not commit you to treatment: you leave with a clear plan and can decide in your own time.
We provide guidance based on medical expertise.
Radiesse is a collagen biostimulator formulated with calcium hydroxylapatite, a biocompatible and biodegradable compound that has been used in medicine for decades. It works in two stages: immediately after injection, it provides structural support to the tissue; over the following weeks, its microspheres stimulate your fibroblasts to produce their own collagen and elastin. The result develops from within and continues to mature over time.
It addresses a specific concern: loss of skin firmness and density, which can make the face look less defined even when there are no deep wrinkles or obvious volume loss.
This is also what distinguishes it from other techniques. It is not primarily a volumising filler: when we need to restore volume or contour a specific area, we use hyaluronic acid. Nor does it reposition tissue like a facelift. When there is significant excess skin, the appropriate option may be surgery — and we will tell you honestly.
Radiesse improves the quality of the tissue you already have. Depending on the objective, it may be used at its standard concentration to provide support and define facial contours, or in a diluted form to improve skin firmness and thickness across broader areas.
The treatment is brief and performed on an outpatient basis. The product contains local anaesthetic, so discomfort is usually minimal, and most patients can resume their normal routine the same day. Mild swelling during the first few days is common.
From that point onwards, your collagen begins to work. Improvements in firmness develop gradually over the following weeks and months, and are reviewed in clinic before deciding calmly on any next steps.
Radiesse may be a suitable option if you recognise yourself in any of the following situations: your facial skin has lost firmness and density — noticeable in the facial contour, jawline or skin texture — but you do not want to add volume; you have already tried hydration or skin-quality treatments and are looking for greater support; or you prefer a subtle improvement that develops progressively, without others being able to identify that you have had a treatment.
There are also cases in which Radiesse is not the right technique, and it is important to identify this beforehand. If your priority is to restore volume in a specific area — such as hollow cheeks, folds or under-eye hollows — hyaluronic acid is generally better suited to that objective.
If skin laxity is accompanied by significant excess skin, no injectable treatment can fully correct it, and the honest approach is to consider other options.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, treatment is postponed — not because a specific risk has been demonstrated, but because there are no adequate studies during these stages and we prefer to wait.
Your own tissue also plays an important role: the response to collagen stimulation varies from one person to another. This is why the indication is based on a clinical assessment of your skin.

The aim is firmer, denser skin, better-defined facial contours and improved tissue quality that can be felt to the touch and seen in the way light reflects across the face. The improvement occurs in stages: first the support, followed by the effects of your own collagen production.
And something that matters just as much to us: the change should still feel like you. The objective is never to make you look like someone else or to make the treatment obvious. It is to help you look more rested, with firmer skin — so people notice that you look well, not different.

We begin by listening: what concerns you, when you first noticed it and what you hope to achieve.
We then assess your face layer by layer — bone, muscle, fat and skin — to understand exactly what is causing the change you see. Not every loss of definition is due to skin laxity, and the quality of your tissue determines which technique is appropriate.
Based on this assessment, we give you a reasoned recommendation: what is suitable for your case, what is not, and why. Sometimes the answer is Radiesse; sometimes it is another technique; and sometimes, no treatment at all.
You leave with a clear treatment plan and quotation, and can decide afterwards in your own time.

It can happen. The collagen-stimulating effect depends on each person’s ability to produce new collagen, and that response varies from one individual to another. That’s why we assess your skin quality before recommending it.
You will notice an initial supporting effect immediately after the session, although it is important not to judge the result during the first few days: any early swelling is not the final outcome.
The true improvement in firmness develops as new collagen forms. It usually becomes visible within the first few weeks and reaches its optimal point at around two to three months. Results commonly last for more than a year, although this varies according to individual collagen production, and periodic maintenance may be recommended to preserve the effect.
Calcium hydroxylapatite is biocompatible and biodegradable. The most common side effects are mild and temporary, such as swelling, redness or bruising for a few days.
Nodules are uncommon and are mainly associated with injection into unsuitable areas or at an incorrect tissue depth. This is why we do not use Radiesse in the lips or under-eye area, and why injection technique is just as important as the product itself. Treatment is postponed during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
They perform different functions, and understanding this distinction is essential. Hyaluronic acid restores volume or contours specific areas, such as the cheeks, a fold or the under-eye area. Radiesse is used to improve the overall firmness and density of the tissue.
When both needs are present, the two treatments may be combined within the same plan, in separate stages and with sufficient time for each product to integrate properly.
All three stimulate collagen, but they are not interchangeable. Radiesse, which is based on calcium hydroxylapatite, provides support from the first day as well as progressive biostimulation.
Sculptra, which is based on poly-L-lactic acid, works more gradually and is usually performed over several sessions, making it suitable for treating broader areas.
Profhilo is a non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid treatment. It improves hydration and superficial skin quality, but it does not provide the same structural support.
The right choice depends on your tissue, the area being treated and the objective.
They address different concerns. Threads create a repositioning effect by pulling tissue in a specific direction. Radiesse does not pull or lift the tissue; it improves the quality and firmness of the skin that supports the face.
In some cases, the treatments complement one another — first improving tissue support, then adding a lifting vector — while in others only one of the two is appropriate. This is one of the questions answered through a clinical assessment of your face.
