A hybrid injectable that supports the skin from day one and stimulates your own collagen over the following months
You may have noticed it more in photographs than in the mirror: your face still looks like you, but the skin around the cheeks and facial contour no longer feels as supported as it once did. It is not one specific wrinkle; it is a gradual loss of density.
HArmonyCa addresses this through two mechanisms in a single session: hyaluronic acid provides immediate support, while calcium hydroxyapatite stimulates your collagen production over the following weeks. The result is firmer-looking skin without changing your expression.
When it is properly indicated —something we determine during your assessment— it is one of the most effective non-surgical options for improving facial firmness over time.
We provide guidance based on medical expertise.
HArmonyCa is a hybrid injectable that combines cross-linked hyaluronic acid and calcium hydroxyapatite microspheres in a single syringe.
Each component performs a different role. Hyaluronic acid provides structure from the moment it is injected, giving the skin greater support and density that same day. Calcium hydroxyapatite then acts as a signal that activates fibroblasts —the cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin— so that, over the following months, your own skin gradually rebuilds the supporting framework it had lost.
It addresses loss of firmness in the mid and lower face: cheeks that have lost density, lines that become more visible when you smile and a less defined facial contour. Rather than treating one isolated wrinkle, it improves the quality and support of the underlying tissue.
What sets it apart from other options is precisely this dual action. A conventional hyaluronic acid filler provides shape and volume, but does not stimulate collagen to the same extent. A pure collagen stimulator works over the medium term, but does not provide an immediate result. HArmonyCa does both, which is why its indication is so specific: it is designed for skin that needs both forms of support.
It is equally important to explain what it is not. It is not intended to create volume where there was none before —area-specific hyaluronic acid fillers are used for that purpose—, it is not injected into the lips or highly mobile areas, and it cannot replace surgery when sagging is advanced. Good medical indication begins with recognising these limitations before treatment.
The session. Treatment is performed in the clinic and takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes. The product contains lidocaine, a local anaesthetic that makes the injections more comfortable. Dr Gheorghiu usually works with a cannula, allowing the product to be distributed in the correct tissue plane through fewer entry points and with a lower risk of bruising.
Afterwards. You can return to your normal day. Mild swelling or redness is common during the first 48–72 hours. The initial supporting effect is visible from the outset, while the improvement in firmness produced by your own collagen develops progressively from around 4–6 weeks.
HArmonyCa may be well suited to you if you recognise yourself in any of the following situations:
There are also cases in which the honest answer is a different technique. If your goal is to restore volume in a specific area —such as the cheeks, chin or under-eye area—, a dedicated hyaluronic acid filler will usually be more appropriate.
If your face is round or tends to carry more volume in the lower third, adding further product may not be flattering. In that case, we will consider alternatives that improve firmness without adding volume.
When sagging is advanced, we will tell you clearly: there comes a point at which aesthetic medicine can support and improve, but cannot fully correct the problem. Forcing the indication only leads to results that satisfy no one.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, the prudent approach is to postpone treatment —not because there is evidence of harm, but because the product has not been studied in these circumstances.

The aim is to help your skin regain its ability to support itself. More specifically:
Greater firmness in the mid and lower face. The cheeks regain density and the facial contour appears better supported, without changing the shape of your face.
Improvement in cheek lines. So-called accordion lines —the lateral lines that appear when you smile— soften as the skin becomes denser, an issue that conventional fillers do not address particularly well.
Skin quality that continues to improve over time. The collagen produced by your own skin does not appear overnight: improvement is cumulative, with the most noticeable results usually seen between the third and sixth month.
Long-lasting results. The effects generally last between 18 and 24 months. Depending on your individual case, Dr Gheorghiu will advise whether a second consolidation session is appropriate and how often maintenance may be beneficial.

First, we listen to you: what concerns you when you look in the mirror and what you hope to achieve.
We then assess your face layer by layer —bone, muscle, fat and skin— to understand exactly what is causing the loss of firmness you see, and whether your tissue would benefit from a collagen stimulator with immediate support such as HArmonyCa or would respond better to another approach.
We then give you a medically reasoned recommendation: what is suitable for your case, what is not, and why. Sometimes the right answer is a different technique; sometimes, no treatment at all.
You leave with a plan and a quote, and you decide afterwards, calmly.

We guide you with medical judgment and an individualized assessment.
Complimentary first consultation.
It should not, and if there were a risk of this in your case, we would explain it during your assessment. HArmonyCa adds only a minimal amount of volume: its purpose is to improve skin density and support, not to reshape the face.
The undesirable result sometimes seen —a wider or heavier-looking face— usually comes from poor patient selection: too much product, placement in unsuitable areas or treatment of a face that already had sufficient volume. This is exactly what the preliminary layer-by-layer assessment is designed to prevent. Our aim is for you to look well, not different.
There are two stages. The support provided by the hyaluronic acid is visible from the first day, once the initial swelling subsides. The firmness created by your own collagen develops later: it usually starts to become noticeable after 4–6 weeks and continues to improve over the following months.
The overall result generally lasts between 18 and 24 months. This is a treatment that rewards patience: patients seeking a dramatic, immediate change are usually better suited to another technique —or, in some cases, no treatment at all.
Both components are biocompatible and biodegradable, and the product carries CE marking for medical use. The most common effects are local and temporary, including swelling, redness or bruising at the injection sites, which usually resolve within a few days. Significant complications are uncommon, and the risk is substantially reduced when treatment is performed by an aesthetic doctor with an in-depth knowledge of facial anatomy.
It is contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding, in the presence of active infection in the treatment area and in certain autoimmune conditions. We review these factors with you during your assessment, together with your medical history.
The difference lies in the objective. A hyaluronic acid filler restores volume and defines specific areas, such as the cheekbones, chin or a facial fold. HArmonyCa works on tissue quality and firmness across broader areas of the cheeks and facial contour.
Put simply: filler provides shape; HArmonyCa provides support. Some patients need one, some need the other, and some benefit from both at different stages —the correct sequence forms part of the treatment plan.
All four stimulate collagen, but they do not work in the same way. Radiesse is pure calcium hydroxyapatite: it has a strong biostimulatory effect, but does not contain the cross-linked hyaluronic acid component that gives HArmonyCa its immediate support.
Sculptra works exclusively over the medium term: the result develops progressively over several sessions, with no visible effect on the first day.
Profhilo improves hydration and skin quality but does not provide structural support: it creates more hydrated-looking skin with a mild tightening effect.
HArmonyCa occupies the middle ground: a visible effect from the outset combined with progressive collagen stimulation in a single product.
The most appropriate option for you depends on your skin, your anatomy and your starting point.
In that case, the right approach is to tell you honestly. HArmonyCa can improve firmness when laxity is mild to moderate; when sagging is significant, no injectable treatment will achieve the result you are expecting, and suggesting otherwise would be misleading.
In these cases, we explore other options with you —from combined treatment plans to, when appropriate, surgery with the relevant specialists. We would rather you leave the consultation with an honest answer than undergo a treatment that will not meet your expectations.
