Forehead lines, a marked frown, crow’s feet that remain even when you are not smiling. These are marks created by the way you move your face, not only by age. And there comes a point when your face can convey tiredness or tension that you do not actually feel.
Treatment with neuromodulators relaxes the muscles that cause these lines in a controlled way. It does not freeze them: it reduces their strength just enough for the skin to look smoother, without taking away your ability to express yourself.
Dr Manuela Gheorghiu adapts the doses and injection points to the way you move your face, your anatomy and your goals. The result depends on this prior clinical decision, not on the product itself.

Expression lines appear due to repeated contraction of the muscles in the upper third of the face — the forehead, frown area and eye contour. Over time, the lines that once appeared only when you moved your face can become visible even at rest. The face may convey tiredness or tension that does not match how you feel.
The treatment consists of applying small doses of a neuromodulator (botulinum toxin type A) at specific points in these muscles. The product partially relaxes their contraction: the line softens, while the muscle retains enough movement for your expression to remain your own.
It is not a filler. It does not add volume or alter the structure of the face. It acts exclusively on the muscle strength that causes the wrinkle.
The session takes between 10 and 15 minutes and does not require anaesthesia. You can return to your usual routine immediately; we only recommend avoiding intense exercise, high heat and touching or manipulating the treated area during the first few hours.
The effects begin to appear within 3 to 5 days and reach their maximum at around two weeks. The result usually lasts between 4 and 6 months; with regular sessions, some patients are able to space treatments further apart because the muscle gradually loses strength.

We start by listening to what you have noticed has changed in your face, what you would like to improve, whether you have had previous treatments and what your experience was like.
We observe your face at rest and in movement: how you express yourself, which muscles work the most and where the strength that marks the lines is concentrated.
We assess the intensity of the contraction, any pre-existing asymmetries, the skin quality in the areas involved and whether previous treatments may influence the doses.
With this information, we decide which muscles to treat, to what extent and which ones should remain untouched. We do not apply a standard pattern: doses and points are adapted to your anatomy and your goals.
We explain what to expect from the treatment, how long the effect lasts, when you will see the result and when a review is advisable. You decide afterwards, without pressure.

This is the most common concern, and the answer depends entirely on how the treatment is planned. Stiffness appears when doses are too high, when too many points are treated, or when the way each patient moves their face is not taken into account.
During the assessment, we analyse your face in movement to decide which muscles to treat, to what extent and which ones to leave intact. The goal is not to paralyse: it is to reduce just enough strength for the line to soften while preserving your expression.
The first effects are usually noticeable within 3 to 5 days. The maximum result is reached at around two weeks.
The usual duration is 4 to 6 months, although it varies depending on each patient’s muscle strength, facial movement pattern and the area treated. With regular sessions, some patients notice that the effect lasts longer because the muscle gradually loses strength.
Botulinum toxin type A is one of the most widely used and studied medicines in aesthetic medicine. It is used in very small, localised doses, exclusively in the muscles we want to treat.
Side effects are usually mild and temporary: a small local bruise, redness or sensitivity at the injection site, which typically resolve on their own within a few days. Complications such as eyelid ptosis (temporary drooping of the eyelid) are uncommon and are directly related to technique and dosage: an appropriate assessment and respect for anatomical safety margins help minimise them.
The treatment is not performed, among other cases, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, in the presence of active infections in the area, neuromuscular disorders or known allergy to any component of the product.
No. When the treatment is stopped, the muscle progressively recovers its contraction strength and the wrinkles return to their previous state, never worse. There is no rebound effect. What happens is that, after a period with smoother skin, returning to the previous state may feel like a step backwards — but it is the same point you were at before treatment.
There is no fixed minimum age. What matters is whether expression lines concern you and what stage they are at. Some patients start with conservative doses from around 25–30 years of age as prevention, when dynamic lines begin to appear. Others start later, when wrinkles are already visible at rest.
In both cases, the assessment determines whether there is an indication, what dose is appropriate and whether it is the right time. Sometimes, the right answer is to wait.
Yes. Neuromodulator treatment works on muscle strength; other treatments such as hyaluronic acid or biostimulators work on support, volume or skin quality. They act on different levels and can complement each other within a phased treatment plan. The indication and order are decided during the assessment.
