Facial sagging is a natural consequence of ageing and results from a combination of different mechanisms. These include the progressive loss of collagen and elastin, the appearance of wrinkles caused by repeated contraction of facial expression muscles, and the loss of bone and fat volume in key areas of the face.
Radiesse is a dermal filler based on calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA), administered through intradermal or deep subcutaneous injections.
It works both to restore lost volume and to improve overall skin quality.
In the skin, its primary target is the fibroblast. Radiesse provides calcium, which plays a key role in stimulating collagen production. It is a biocompatible and naturally resorbable product.
Our Radiesse treatment is a unique product that can be applied at different skin depths to promote cellular renewal, support hydration, stimulate extracellular matrix proteins and fibroblasts, and help reduce collagen degradation.

The calcium hydroxylapatite in Radiesse works by stimulating two essential proteins for skin quality: type I collagen and elastin. Radiesse is well suited to help restore skin smoothness, thickness and radiance.
In contrast, hyaluronic acid fillers are primarily designed to restore lost facial volume and improve facial harmony resulting from age-related loss of fat and bone. They are commonly used to treat hollow under-eye areas, nasolabial folds, and to enhance the cheeks or define the jawline.
The effects typically last between 18 and 24 months.
In general, 2 to 3 sessions are required, with an interval of approximately 3 to 4 months between treatments.
From that point onwards, maintenance injections are recommended every 12 to 18 months to help maintain optimal aesthetic results.
Our Radiesse treatment can be considered safe. Thanks to its biocompatible and non-permanent composition, it has a low risk of allergic reactions and a reduced likelihood of forming small subcutaneous nodules.
The effects are rare and are commonly related to the injection which may produce redness, swelling and some temporary bruising in the area where it has been applied.
In general, these treatments are suitable for most people. However, the most appropriate option is determined based on a medical assessment and each patient’s medical history.
Hyaluronic acid filler treatments are contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding. This is not because the treatment is known to be unsafe, but because there are no scientific studies conducted in pregnant or breastfeeding women. As a precaution, we recommend postponing treatment until after this period.
