Hyaluronic Acid for Buttocks
Definition and balance for the buttock contour, without surgery and with a precise medical indication.
Exercise can improve the buttocks, but it cannot always change their shape: lateral hollows that squats cannot fill, natural asymmetries and volume lost after weight loss that has not returned.
When the concern is contour or projection, body hyaluronic acid filler allows us to treat it with precision, placing the product exactly where support is needed and in the appropriate amount.
- A visible result from the first session, using conservative volumes that respect your natural silhouette.
- We treat the exact area that changes the shape: lateral hollows, asymmetry or limited projection.
- A traceable hyaluronic acid product specifically designed for body areas, administered using a medical injection technique.
- And when another technique is more appropriate for your case, we will explain why during your consultation.
We provide guidance based on medical expertise.
What does hyaluronic acid treatment for the buttocks involve?
Hyaluronic acid is a substance naturally found in the skin and tissues, with a remarkable ability to retain water and provide volume. For the buttock area, a product specifically developed for body use is selected: a denser, more cohesive gel than facial filler, designed to support volume across a larger area that is constantly in motion.
It addresses a very specific concern: localised loss or lack of volume. This may include lateral hip hollows, commonly known as hip dips, asymmetry between the buttocks, an area that has lost volume after weight loss, or limited projection in the upper buttock. In each case, hyaluronic acid can restore or redistribute volume exactly where the anatomy requires it.
Its main difference compared with other options is immediacy and control: the result is visible at the end of the session, the contour can be shaped during treatment and, because hyaluronic acid is resorbable, the body gradually integrates and breaks it down.
It is equally important to explain what this treatment is not. It does not provide an increase comparable to fat transfer or buttock implants, and it does not treat skin laxity. When the main concern is loss of firmness rather than lack of volume, buttock skin tightening treatment is usually more appropriate.
The session and the days afterwards: treatment is performed at the clinic using local anaesthesia and a microcannula, and usually takes around one hour. You can return to normal daily activities afterwards, with a few precautions during the first days. These will be explained in detail at your consultation and include avoiding intense exercise and prolonged pressure on the area while the product settles.
Mild swelling or occasional bruising is normal and temporary. The result visible on the first day becomes more refined over the following weeks as the swelling subsides and the gel integrates into the tissue.
Is it right for you?
Hyaluronic acid treatment for the buttocks may be suitable when one or more of the following situations applies:
- Lateral hollows or hip dips that interrupt the curve between the hips and buttocks, despite regular exercise and a stable weight.
- Visible asymmetry between one buttock and the other.
- Localised volume loss after weight loss or over time, while the skin remains firm.
- A desire for slightly greater projection while remaining in proportion with your natural silhouette.
There are cases where a different approach is the right recommendation. If your skin has lost firmness and the buttocks have begun to sag, addressing skin laxity comes before adding volume. If your goal is to improve firmness and overall skin quality gradually and comprehensively, collagen stimulators are often the better option.
And when the goal is a substantial increase in size, aesthetic medicine has an honest limit: that degree of change requires surgery.
Treatment is postponed during pregnancy and breastfeeding, not because there is evidence of harm, but because studies are not performed during these stages and a precautionary approach is appropriate.

What can this treatment achieve?
The aim is to create a continuous curve: a smooth transition between the hip and buttock, without hollows or abrupt changes that interrupt the contour. Depending on your anatomy, this may involve softening hip dips, balancing an asymmetry, restoring lost volume or adding subtle projection to the upper buttock.
The result is visible from the first day and settles over the following weeks. From that point, the expected duration is approximately 12 to 18 months. The body gradually breaks down the hyaluronic acid, at a rate that varies according to the product, the amount injected, your metabolism and your level of physical activity.
As the effect gradually reduces, you can decide whether to maintain it with another session, which may require less product than the initial treatment, or simply allow the area to return to its previous appearance. You are not committed to ongoing treatment; this reversibility is part of its value.

What is the assessment like?
We listen to what concerns you and what you expect from treatment: what you notice when you look at your body, how long it has been present and what type of result would feel appropriate for you.
We assess the factors behind the shape you see: the bone structure of your hips, muscle, fat distribution and skin quality. Each factor requires a different approach, and identifying which one has the greatest influence in your case is what turns an injection into a sound medical indication.
We then give you a medically reasoned recommendation: what is suitable for your case, what is not, and why. Sometimes the right answer is a different technique; sometimes, no treatment at all.
You leave with a plan and a quote, and you decide afterwards, calmly.

Frequently asked questions about hyaluronic acid for the buttocks
How much change can I expect? Will it be noticeable?
The change will be noticeable where it should be. Hyaluronic acid improves contour by filling a hollow, balancing asymmetry or rounding a curve that appears flat. Others may notice a more balanced silhouette, not a completely different buttock shape.
If you’re expecting the dramatic transformations often seen on social media—most of which are achieved with surgery—this treatment is likely to fall short. During your consultation, we’ll show you what can realistically be achieved based on your individual anatomy.
How long do the results last, and what happens when the filler is reabsorbed?
The expected duration is approximately 12 to 18 months, with variations depending on the product, the amount used, your metabolism and your level of physical activity.
The product is reabsorbed gradually. There is no single day when the result suddenly disappears; instead, it reduces slowly, giving you time to decide whether you would like to maintain it.
Once the hyaluronic acid has been reabsorbed, the tissue returns to its previous state; it does not become worse or more lax. Maintenance sessions often require less product than the initial treatment.
Hyaluronic acid or a collagen stimulator: which do I need?
They address different concerns, although they are often confused. Hyaluronic acid provides immediate, localised volume and is the more suitable option when shape is lacking in a specific area.
Collagen stimulators do not act as fillers. They encourage your own tissues to produce collagen, creating a gradual result over two to three months and improving firmness and skin quality more globally and for longer.
When the concern is a clearly defined hollow, hyaluronic acid is usually more effective. When the buttocks have lost firmness and density overall, a collagen stimulator may be more appropriate.
In some cases, the right approach combines both treatments in stages. This is exactly the type of decision made during the medical assessment.
How does it compare with surgery, fat transfer or implants?
Surgery provides a greater increase in size. When the goal is a significant change in volume, no injectable treatment can offer an equivalent result, and we will not suggest otherwise.
Hyaluronic acid offers different advantages: no operating theatre, no general anaesthesia, no weeks of recovery, a result that can be controlled session by session and a resorbable treatment.
For contour corrections, which account for most of the cases we see, surgery would often be disproportionate. For a substantial increase in size, an injectable treatment would be insufficient.
Is it safe? What risks does it have?
When an appropriate product is used with a medical injection technique, this treatment has a favourable safety profile. Hyaluronic acid is biocompatible and resorbable, and the most common effects are mild and temporary, including swelling, tenderness or bruising during the first few days.
The more significant complications you may have read about, such as nodules, persistent pain or product migration, are particularly associated with three factors that must be carefully controlled: treatment by non-medical practitioners, products without proper traceability and excessive volumes injected in a single session.
We use only CE-marked hyaluronic acid specifically intended for body use, in conservative amounts. We do not use permanent fillers such as silicone because of the reactions and deformities they may cause over time.
Can I sit down afterwards? When can I return to the gym?
You can sit down and resume normal daily activities immediately. Body hyaluronic acid gel is cohesive and is not displaced by normal everyday pressure.
During the first week, however, it is advisable to avoid intense exercise, particularly glute-focused training, prolonged pressure and significant heat exposure such as saunas or direct sun, so the product can settle evenly.
After this initial period, your usual training routine is compatible with the treatment.
