Some days, the mirror seems to tell a different story from how you actually feel. You feel well, yet your face looks more tired than you are, as though something has shifted downwards without you being able to pinpoint exactly where.
Often, the explanation is not in the skin itself, but just beneath it: the fat layer that helps support the face can lose firmness over time. Profhilo Structura is a non-surgical medical treatment designed to act specifically at this level and help restore its supporting function.

The face does not age in a single layer. Beneath the skin are bone, muscle and fat compartments that work together to support the cheeks and facial contour from within. Over time, superficial fat can lose density and reorganise, causing the tissues to descend more diffusely. This can create a tired-looking face that creams or fillers do not necessarily correct, because the underlying cause lies at a different level.
Profhilo Structura is specifically formulated for this layer. It combines high- and low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid without chemical cross-linking — known as a cooperative hybrid complex — at a concentration 40% higher than the classic bioremodelling product in the same family. Its purpose is not to occupy space or project a specific point, but to help the adipose tissue recover firmness and better support the overlying skin.
It is administered with a cannula in the subcutaneous plane — beneath the skin, within the fat layer itself — in an outpatient session lasting around 15 to 30 minutes. Compared with a needle, a cannula can reduce bruising and allows the product to be distributed more evenly along the fat compartment.
It is also important to understand its limits. It is not a volumising filler: it does not project the cheekbones or enhance the chin. It does not replace classic Profhilo, which works in the dermis to improve skin quality. It does not treat expression lines, which require a neuromodulator. And it is not the appropriate technique for advanced sagging: in those cases, other options may be more suitable, and we will explain them during your consultation.
After treatment, there may be mild swelling or some bruising at the cannula entry points, usually resolving within a few days. The effect on the tissue is progressive and continues to develop over the following weeks as the tissue responds.

The usual protocol consists of two sessions one month apart. Some initial support may be noticeable early on, but the change continues to consolidate over the following weeks as the tissue responds.
As a general guide, results may last around six months — although this varies between patients depending on the degree of laxity at baseline, skin quality and lifestyle factors.

This treatment is designed to achieve a subtle, natural-looking result: restoring support without changing your facial expression or features. For that reason, the change can be understated, but when the indication is appropriate, the face can look firmer and better supported.
The key is understanding where the laxity is coming from. Different treatments act on different tissues, and Profhilo Structura has a very specific indication. When the needs of the face match what this treatment is designed to improve, it can be a suitable option; when the cause lies in another layer, other approaches may be more appropriate.
That is why we place so much importance on the initial consultation: the aim is not to perform a treatment and hope it works, but to choose the treatment that makes sense for that particular face. And if Profhilo Structura is not right for you, we will tell you beforehand.
No. The aim is to restore support that has gradually been lost, not to alter your features or add volume. Its mechanism differs from that of a filler: rather than occupying space to create projection, it is intended to improve the firmness of the tissue you already have. The result is a firmer, more rested appearance — so you look well, not different. The indication is tailored to each patient precisely to respect your individual anatomy.
No, although they share the same core ingredient. A cross-linked hyaluronic acid filler is injected to create localised volume: to project the cheekbones, define the chin or fill a fold.
Profhilo Structura works at a different level and with a different objective: the superficial fat that contributes to firmness and supports the skin. The difference is not simply the product, but the indication — and in some cases what you need may be a filler, or a combination of both. This is what we determine during your consultation.
All three use hyaluronic acid, but they have different objectives.
A skinbooster is designed primarily to hydrate the skin and improve its quality.
Classic Profhilo goes a step further towards bioremodelling: as well as improving hydration and elasticity, it is intended to address skin laxity and tissue quality without adding volume.
Profhilo Structura changes both the treatment plane and the objective: it works at the level of superficial fat to help restore facial support.
They are not competing treatments: they address different needs and may be complementary. If your question is “dull skin or a face that has dropped?”, that is exactly what we clarify during the consultation.
They are similar in their overall aim — improving firmness — but not in how they work.
Sculptra and Radiesse are collagen biostimulators: they stimulate the body to produce new collagen. Profhilo Structura, by contrast, is a hyaluronic acid treatment whose primary aim is not collagen stimulation, but to act on facial adipose tissue.
Which option is most appropriate depends on the type of laxity, the quality of your tissues and where you are in the ageing process. There are cases for each treatment, and situations in which they may be combined in stages. It is a diagnostic decision.
The treatment is performed on an outpatient basis, takes around 15 to 30 minutes and is administered with a cannula, which generally makes the procedure more comfortable and can reduce bruising compared with a needle. Afterwards, there may be mild swelling, some bruising or small bumps at the entry points; these are usually temporary and resolve within a few days.

There are contraindications that we review during your consultation, including pregnancy, breastfeeding, active infection in the treatment area, certain autoimmune conditions and uncontrolled anticoagulant therapy.
We also coordinate the timing with other procedures — such as ablative laser treatments or medium-depth chemical peels — so that one treatment does not interfere with another. This review forms part of your medical assessment.
