Neck ageing is rarely simply a matter of having “too much skin”. What usually happens first is a loss of skin density: the skin becomes thinner, less elastic and less able to support itself.
This is where Sculptra works: it stimulates your own collagen production so the tissue gradually regains structure and firmness over the following weeks.

Sculptra is an injectable treatment made from poly-L-lactic acid, a biocompatible and biodegradable material that acts as a biostimulator. Rather than filling the area, it encourages your skin to produce new collagen and elastin. The result is not created by the product itself; it is gradually built by your own tissue.
This approach is particularly well suited to the neck. The skin here is thin, contains fewer sebaceous glands and is exposed to significant sun damage, so it often loses density earlier than other areas. The aim is not to pull the skin tighter from the outside, but to restore structure from within.
Precisely because neck skin is more delicate, technique matters just as much as the product. Dilution, injection depth and dosage must be adapted specifically to this area rather than simply copied from facial protocols. A careful approach is essential to protect the quality of the result.
The session involves a series of injections with mild discomfort. You can usually return to your normal day afterwards, following the simple self-massage instructions we provide. The tissue then responds progressively, and this biological pace determines the different stages of the treatment plan.
Sculptra for the neck may be suitable for patients who notice that the skin has become thinner, less firm or more crepey, whose neck is beginning to look out of balance with a well-cared-for face, and who prefer a gradual improvement rather than an obvious change.
It may also be a reasonable option if you have ruled out surgery but would still like to improve skin quality and support within the limits of what your individual case allows.
Some necks, however, require a different approach, and identifying this early can save you time and money. When submental fat is the main concern, when prominent platysmal bands are present or when there is significant excess skin, Sculptra is not usually the first-line option.

We then assess the area in detail — the condition of your skin, how much density and elasticity it retains, the degree of laxity, and the contribution of fat and muscle to what you see — to determine whether collagen stimulation is the right response for your case.
We then give you a medically reasoned recommendation: what is suitable for your case, what is not, and why. Sometimes the right answer is a different technique; sometimes, no treatment at all.

The result is not immediate. Sculptra stimulates your own collagen production, and this biological process takes time. During the first few weeks, it may seem as though nothing is happening, and that is completely normal.
The improvement becomes gradually more visible over the following months as the tissue gains density.
Sculptra is a medical treatment that requires proper indication, precise technique and clinical follow-up. As with any injectable procedure, temporary local reactions such as swelling, tenderness or small bruises may occur, and these usually resolve within a few days.
In most cases, return to normal routine is usually quick, although it depends on the individual response.
It should be postponed if there is active infection or inflammation in the area, and relevant medical history should be reviewed during the consultation to confirm that the treatment is appropriate.
There is no universal number of sessions. It depends on the condition of your skin, the degree of laxity and your starting point. As a general guide, this type of treatment is usually planned over more than one session, spaced several weeks apart to respect the tissue’s natural response time.
Because the result is based on your own collagen, the effects can be long-lasting — around two years as a general guide — although this varies according to tissue quality, lifestyle and each patient’s individual response. It is not permanent: the skin continues to age, which is why many patients choose occasional maintenance sessions.
They address different needs. Hyaluronic acid provides immediate hydration or volume; Sculptra does not add external volume, but stimulates your skin to build its own supporting structure. In the neck, where the concern is usually loss of density and support rather than volume, biostimulation often makes more sense, although both treatments may be combined in selected plans. The clinical assessment determines the best option.
In general, no. Sculptra stimulates your own collagen and does not create an implant that would interfere with later surgery. In fact, some patients use it to improve skin quality in the years before considering a procedure, while others may never feel the need for surgery.
