Body Skin Tightening Treatment

Each area of the body loses firmness in a different way. Before recommending a treatment, we assess whether your case is suitable and what kind of result you can realistically expect.

You may notice that the skin in one area of your body has lost firmness and no longer tightens on its own.

This is a common concern, and there is a medical explanation for it: over time, the skin loses the support structure that helps keep it firm.

Medical treatments can help improve this firmness by stimulating collagen within the tissue itself. However, not all areas respond in the same way, and not every case is suitable. That is why the first step is a medical assessment focused on your specific situation.

We provide guidance based on medical expertise.

Body Skin Tightening Treatment.

What does body skin tightening treatment involve?

We use collagen biostimulation treatments, such as poly-L-lactic acid, to activate a gradual improvement in the tissue. They do not work as an immediate filler. Their role is to stimulate the skin’s natural response so that, over time, it gains more consistency, firmness and overall quality.

This treatment is indicated for people with mild to moderate skin laxity: loss of firmness associated with ageing, weight changes or stages such as the postpartum period, when the skin still has the capacity to respond to stimulation.

It is not a substitute for surgery. If there is significant excess skin or very advanced laxity, the treatment may improve tissue quality, but the result will not be equivalent to a surgical procedure. If your case falls into this category, the assessment also helps identify it and guide you appropriately.

It is also not an immediate-results treatment. It depends on the biological response of your own tissue, and that takes time. If you are looking for a visible change within a few days, this mechanism does not match that expectation.

Where do you notice the skin laxity?

What can this treatment achieve?

If the skin still has the capacity to respond, the aim of body skin tightening treatment is to improve firmness and tissue quality in the affected area. It is not about filling or mechanically tightening the skin, but about stimulating the body so it can recover part of the support structure it has lost.

This stimulation creates a gradual change. It does not happen during the session or in the following days: the tissue needs weeks and months to generate new collagen. The first changes are usually noticed after four to six weeks, and the improvement continues over several months. Most cases require more than one session to achieve the desired result.

The degree of improvement depends on the area. Some areas have stronger clinical evidence, and different tissues respond differently. Treating the inner thigh is not the same as treating the knee area, just as a mildly lax abdomen is different from one with significant excess skin.

There is also a limit that should be clear from the beginning: if laxity is severe or there is a significant amount of excess skin, medical treatment can improve tissue quality, but it will not produce a surgical lifting effect. If your case is within that range, the assessment will include that answer.

How do we assess body skin laxity?

Before recommending a treatment, we need to understand your case. Not everyone who consults about body skin laxity has the same concern or the same expected response.

The assessment includes an analysis of the area: we evaluate tissue quality, the degree of laxity and whether there are factors that are not dermal laxity —such as localised fat, volume loss or excess skin— that would change the approach. What may look like the same concern can have different origins, and this determines whether the treatment makes sense and which plan is most appropriate.

The area also defines the plan. The same active ingredient requires a different technical approach in each area: tissue density, mobility, exposure to movement and the available clinical evidence all vary. A protocol that works for the buttocks cannot be transferred directly to the knees.

There is also a third factor in the process: your perception. How you feel about the result after each session —what you notice, what has changed, what you expected to be different— is incorporated into the planning of the next sessions. This is not a fixed protocol carried out from start to finish without adjustment.

Can several areas be treated?

Yes, but they are not all approached at the same time. Each area has its own response rhythm and requires its own planning.

The assessment establishes priorities: which area has the greatest impact, which one may respond sooner, and how many sessions each area may need. In some cases, the best decision is to start with one area and assess how the tissue responds before adding another.

The assessment does include a global view. We do not look only at the area that concerns you in isolation, but at how it fits within the body as a whole. This allows us to plan a coherent treatment pathway, without treating areas unnecessarily or leaving out those that should be considered.

Would you like a personalised assessment?

Frequently asked questions about body skin tightening treatment

We would not describe it as removing skin laxity, but as improving firmness and tissue quality when the skin still has the capacity to respond. In cases of mild or moderate laxity, biostimulation can help the skin feel firmer, denser and better supported. If there is a significant amount of excess skin, the treatment may improve tissue quality, but it does not replace a surgical procedure.

The indication depends on the area, the degree of laxity, skin quality and the cause of the loss of firmness. It usually makes more sense when the laxity is mild or moderate and the tissue can still respond to collagen stimulation. During the assessment, we analyse whether your case is suitable or whether another approach would be more appropriate.

No. Although the active ingredient may be the same, the technical approach varies depending on the area. Tissue density, mobility and the available clinical evidence are different in the buttocks, thighs, abdomen, arms and knees. The plan —number of sessions, application technique and expected result— is adapted to each area and each case.

This is an injectable medical treatment that acts in layers of the skin that topical cosmetics cannot reach. The mechanism is different: it stimulates collagen production from within the tissue, not from the surface. However, it does not work the same way in every case or in every area. The assessment helps determine whether your case can respond and what kind of result is realistic.

The treatment stimulates the tissue to produce new collagen, and that takes time. The first changes are usually perceived between four and six weeks. Improvement continues progressively over several months. Most cases require more than one session, and the number and interval are determined during the assessment according to the area and starting point.

The assessment includes that answer. If the degree of laxity or excess skin means that a non-surgical medical treatment will not deliver the result you are looking for, we will tell you. In those cases, the treatment may improve tissue quality, but it does not replace surgery.

Exercise improves muscle tone, but it cannot restore the skin’s support structure once it has been lost over time. They work through different mechanisms: one targets the muscle; the other targets the dermal tissue. Combining both can be positive, but one does not replace the other.

It depends on the area treated, the number of sessions required and the plan established after the assessment. On the specific pages for each area, you will find an indicative price to help you get an idea before the consultation.
