Arm flaccidity does not always have the same cause. In some cases, loss of support and skin quality is the main issue; in others, excess skin or localized fat plays a greater role.
At Clínica Provença, we first assess that difference and only recommend Lanluma when it can provide a coherent, medically sound improvement in Barcelona.

Lanluma is a good option when the arm shows thin, crepey or “deflated” skin, with mild to moderate laxity, and the goal is to improve tissue support without surgery or artificial-looking changes.
This is often the case in patients who notice that the arm looks “slimmer but less structured”, especially on the inner arm, even without having gained volume.

Lanluma is a poly-L-lactic acid biostimulator. It does not work like an immediate filler, nor is it intended to remove localized fat. Once injected into selected tissue planes, it triggers a controlled local response that promotes fibroblast activity and the gradual, natural formation of new collagen.
This response does not create volume, but rather a gradual reorganisation of arm tissue, which gains consistency and support over time.

Lanluma treatment helps the arm look better supported, with skin that appears less thin, less wrinkled and more in harmony with the rest of the silhouette.
The improvement is usually more elegant than striking: the goal is not to “change the arm”, but to restore quality and continuity.
First, a detailed medical assessment is carried out to determine whether the real target is skin quality, laxity or a mixed component. The exact area to be treated and a reasonable degree of correction are then planned.
During the session, Lanluma is injected into selected tissue planes of the arm using a technique designed to distribute the product evenly. The treatment is usually performed in clinic, followed by specific aftercare instructions, including regular massage of the area to promote uniform integration.
At Clínica Provença, this point matters: in the arms, a prudent indication is more valuable than adding product too soon. For that reason, when appropriate, treatment is approached in stages and reviewed before intensifying.
Before treatment, we assess proportion, tissue quality, support and the type of laxity. Not every flaccid arm needs the same approach.
In the arms, this is especially relevant, because an incorrect indication may lead to trying to “correct volume” when the real issue is inadequate skin support.
We prioritise prudent adjustments that allow us to observe how the tissue integrates. In an area such as the arm, this helps avoid overcorrection and artificial-looking results.
The goal is not to “fill” the arm, but to improve its quality without altering its proportions or natural appearance.
The patient’s perception after each stage matters. We review progress, sensations and the real degree of improvement to decide whether it is best to continue, maintain or stop.
Technical precision, control of the treatment plane and ongoing scientific updating are all part of the final result.

In the arms, Lanluma makes sense when the main indication is flaccidity and skin quality. If there is marked excess skin or a predominantly fatty component, it may not be the best option as the primary treatment.
After treatment, mild swelling, tenderness, redness or temporary bruising may occur. It is also important to know that nodules or irregularities, although not common, are among the known risks of the procedure and are minimised with good patient selection, appropriate technique and correct aftercare.
Contraindications or situations requiring specific assessment include pregnancy, breastfeeding, active infection in the area, certain coagulation disorders, anticoagulant treatment, allergy to any component of the product, a tendency to abnormal scarring, and certain autoimmune or inflammatory conditions.
When excess skin is significant, Lanluma may help but may not be sufficient on its own. That is precisely why prior assessment is so important.
It is not a treatment with an immediate effect. Changes usually begin to be noticed in the first few weeks, with a more evident improvement after the second stage if required, and a more reliable reading of the result from around 3–4 months.
For the arms, a plan of 1 to 3 sessions is often considered, spaced a few weeks apart and adjusted according to the degree of laxity, tissue response and the extent of the area. It is not approached as a fixed number.
The evolution is not immediate. The first signs usually appear after the first few weeks, the improvement is often easier to appreciate after the second stage if required, and the result can be assessed more reliably from around 3–4 months.
After that, the effect may be long-lasting, usually around 18–24 months, with maintenance needs varying from case to case.
In most cases, it is compatible with normal daily activity. Even so, it is advisable to allow for possible temporary swelling, tenderness or bruising, and to follow the massage or aftercare instructions given after the session.
No. Lanluma does not widen the arm and is not designed to increase volume.
Its main effect is to improve skin quality and provide support to the tissue, which can make the arm look firmer and more defined, not larger.
In some cases, by stimulating collagen production, a certain degree of skin density is restored, but this effect is subtle and forms part of an improvement in flaccidity, not a volumetric increase.
In fact, when properly indicated, the result is often an arm that looks more refined, because the skin appears tighter and better structured.
